The pilots are described by their race (human/android/cyborg/replicant ), main attributes and skills. They can gain experience points and advance in rank in a role playing game manner. In the factory module the player can design new titans, choosing from numerous equipment and weapon systems. These range from chainsaws to guided long range missiles.
