Gamers are, at heart, collectors. Whether its coins, bonuses or lost artifacts, we enjoy hunting and gathering. Bonbon Quest, from developer Oliver Pearl, is a platform game in which you spend a lot of time grabbing pieces of suspended candy. You'll also employ your skills at jumping and landing on the heads of evil creatures in order to eliminate them, as in the early Mario titles.

The game stars Artemus and Hannah, a pair of children with insatiable sweet tooths. Your goal is to collect all of the candy on a level in order to move on to the next stage. An assortment of frightful enemies -- including spiders, bats, witches, skeletons and more -- guard the treats. In a neat twist, you can walk off one edge of the screen and appear at another; this forces you to think about how to get to all of the candy. The graphics, which are reminiscent of a children's book, are delightfully spooky. If you don't like snacking alone, a friend can join in on the fun.

For those of you who enjoy the simple pleasures of running, jumping and collecting, Bonbon Quest is as sweet as the delicacy after which it's named.
