Cate West: The Vanishing Files Review

Cate West is a novelist and a physic. In this hidden object game, you take the role of Cate as she assists the police in an investigation called "The Vanishing Files." The gameplay is easy to learn and the items you must find are pretty easy to see. Not only will you hunt for items (called "clues"), you'll need to identify the differences between sets of similar pictures. A variation can be a tiny crack in a sidewalk or a differently colored flower. You'll have to look very carefully, as attention to detail is the key to solving the mystery. The evidence you collect will lead you to eight suspects. After you make an arrest, you help a police detective put the clues in their proper place so the judge and jury can see the crime scene. There is a hint button, although the fewer hints you use, the more points you'll receive. Of course, your first priority is keeping an eye on the clock so you don't run out of time! With 75 wonderfully lifelike levels, a big story and addictive gameplay, Cate West is a casual gaming treat! The music and sound effects are good, although I prefer to turn down the volume so I can concentrate on the story and my goals. If you decide to replay the game, the lists of items you must find will change, so it won't be the exact same experience again. My "physic" instincts tell me you'll love this game as much as I do.
