In Diner Dash 2: Restaurant Rescue from Playfirst, Flo not only continues to show off the business savvy demonstrated in the first Diner Dash, in which she built a chain of five restaurants from the very sweat of her brow, but also shows she's a good sport by helping her friends save their own eateries from a cigar-munching capitalist. Even though she's the frontrunner for Businesswoman of the Year, Flo isn't above strapping on her apron and doing what she does best: seat customers, take orders, deliver meals, and clean up the resulting mess.

The real secret to Flo's success is her skills at multitasking, which a whole new set of customers pushes to the breaking point. Fortunately, strategic opportunities abound. Placing a jogger, who's oblivious to the world around her thanks to the music streaming from her headphones, next to a cell phone addicted-power luncher creates peace and harmony for all. Another nice addition is the family with the squawking baby, which requires a highchair.

Just when it seems the parade of customers is becoming too great, Playfirst introduces a number of innovations, such as calling on one of four friends to help clean tables, entertain customers, or serve drinks. When you meet certain monetary goals, you get to choose various aesthetic improvements for your establishment, allowing you to catch your breath before the next shift.

Otherwise, the gameplay remains unchanged, which is good news for those who enjoyed the original. The controls drag a bit, and other quibbles crop up, but nothing serious. In all, Diner Dash 2 is a terrific addition to anyone's library of casual games.
