Dream Vacation Solitaire Review
Published: September 18, 2006 If I told you Dream Vacation Solitaire from Oberon Games is the best solitaire game available for the computer, you'd rightfully wonder if I'd played them all. Since I haven't, I'll resist the urge to hyperbolize and just say Dream Vacation is a pleasure to play. Oberon's Solitaire offering contains over 30 games arranged into a quest to hit the top vacation spots around the world. As you master the different games, you unlock new destinations, earn trophies and upgrade your yacht. This might sound like a lot of work for a vacation when in fact Dream Vacation Solitaire is easy to play and win. Not only are standard features such as tutorials and undo options included, you also earn bonuses as you play. These allow you to reveal hidden cards, swap a card with one in the stock pile and so on. The wealth of gameplay options alone makes Dream Vacation Solitaire worthy of a spot on your desktop, so the visuals are like an extra week off with pay. The backgrounds are colorful and nicely rendered, and stacks of cards swing realistically as you drag them across the screen. The audio completes the experience, with seagulls singing over ocean waves. A definite must-try for Solitaire fans.
