FizzBall Review

That's the feeling you'll get while playing FizzBall from Alawar Entertainment. This inspired new Breakout game begins with a strange event that leaves the animals of an island paradise stranded without food. Your job is to capture them using the FizzBall. Each level starts with you launching a small bubble that expands as you collect more and more animals. This allows you to work your way up from ducks and frogs to larger and more exotic creatures. Your goal is to capture all of the wildlife on the screen without losing your last bubble. The visuals in FizzBall are fantastic (the animals you've collected churn about in the bubble like the objects in Katamari Darmacy) and the gameplay is even better. Bonus stages appear now and again to shake up the action (you might be asked to capture as many frogs as you can or hit several numbered barrels in order) and you can visit an Animal Sanctuary whenever you please to feed your captives. Kids can also enjoy a special mode that features animal trivia and challenge-free gameplay. FizzBall is one of the best casual games of 2006. It's well worth downloading even if you're not a fan of Arkanoids.
