Jackpot Match-Up Review
Written by: David Laprad Published: April 17, 2007 Jackpot Match-Up from Large Animal Games won't knock off your socks, but it might keep you playing late into the night. In the casino-themed puzzle game, you use your mouse to create links between tiles that match a selection of tiles at the top of the screen. As you make matches, coins are thrown on a scale. If you take too long, you lose the pot; if you cash in too soon, you might leave behind coins you could've won. It didn't take long for me to find out this simple game mechanic can be downright absorbing, especially with the extras piled on top. For starters, you can unlock five casinos, each with a different theme. (In Buffalo Billions, which is available in the free demo, you match pistols, horseshoes and cowboy hats.) You can also earn time on the roulette wheel to win powerups that swing the odds in your favor, including one that rearranges all of the tiles on the grid. Layered on top of this are bright, colorful graphics and audio that sounds like a real casino. Jackpot Match-Up is quite the addictive little package and is well worthy trying, even if you're not a casino hound.
