Nanny Mania Review
Written by: David Laprad Published: May 30, 2007 Cooking, cleaning and taking care of children are honorable pursuits, but they involve a lot of hard work -- and most people who do it for a living are glad to put up their feet at the end of the day. So it's amazing that publisher Gogii Games and developer TOYBOX GAMES were able to take the concept of caring for a family and make a fun game out of it. Nanny Mania casts you as a hired hand who must perform a variety of chores for her employer each day. These tasks range from cooking meals and feeding babies to scrubbing bathrooms and doing laundry. When a chore needs completing, all you have to do is click on it, and the nanny will rush to the spot and begin working. Since tasks pile up fast, you can select several, and she'll complete them in order. Of course, you're always racing against the clock to finish your chores before the end of the day. At first, the gameplay is fast-paced and very enjoyable. Over time, though, the action becomes repetitive because all of the tasks you'll carry out are introduced early on, leaving nothing new for most of Nanny Mania's 150 levels. What's more, even the latter stages are too easy to beat. That said, the graphics, which utilize a crisp Sims style perspective, more than make up the difference. So try Nanny Mania and see if it hooks you as much as it did us. Scoring (out of five stars):Graphics: Ease of use: Gameplay: Challenge: Sound effects: Music: Final analysis: |
