Reaxxion from publisher Mumbo Jumbo and developer Hot Lava is the cool new kid on the block who's making the other kids jealous. Being noticed when you're new isn't easy. You need style. And you must offer something no one else has. Reaxxion -- a Breakout game that just moved into an already overcrowded neighborhood -- has both.

Style doesn't come easy in any interactive game. But the creators of Reaxxion make it look like a day at the beach. They use groups of simple shapes and brilliant colors to create levels with a high jaw-drop factor. (Imagine neon-lit electric guitars and fiery dragons.) Then they overlay the core graphics with a futuristic sheen that looks incredible.

The twist in Reaxxion involves your paddle -- which is made of liquid metal. You can increase its size by catching little silvery beads smashed shapes drop. And then you can click your left mouse button to launch new balls at will and reduce the size of your paddle. Right-clicking catches a ball and increases the size of your paddle again. It's an awesome twist no other Breakout clone can claim -- and it makes for one of the most captivating arcade games in recent memory.
