Shoot-n-Roll Review
Published: February 15, 2006 Whoever said size matters had never met Fatman. Forget his name; weighing in at a mere 100 pixels, the little chap has explored more jungles than Indiana Jones and snapped up more treasure than Lara Croft. Like the hero from Loderunner, he's scampered across countless levels, collecting coins and avoiding enemies. His newest quest, Shoot-n-Roll, takes a more direct approach to dealing with thugs. This time through, he's armed and dangerous. Each of the game's 120 stages consists of an array of platforms, elevators and ladders. The screen is also with peppered with coins, all of which Fatman must gather to access the next level. Unlimited ammunition isn't a failsafe solution to handling the green, blue and red globs that have pursued our rotund champion through five previous adventures, however. Thankfully, he can also pound a hole in the ground to trap any enemy nipping at his heels, hide behind shields for protection and use the occasional powerup. Simply put, the level design is brilliant. Add in attractive environments, solid animation and catchy tunes, and you've got another winner from Another Day. Although the look of the Fatman games is becoming stale, the gameplay still packs heat, and that's what counts. Scoring (out of five dragon heads): Graphics: Ease of use: Gameplay: Difficulty: Sound effects: Music: Final analysis:
