"Wow!" That was my reaction to playing The Treasures of Montezuma from Alawar Entertainment. Treasures is a match-three game in which you play an archeologist who sets out to find a lost Mayan city. The gameplay is easy to understand, so I was playing in no time. You progress by matching colored tokens and collecting the gems that some of the tokens contain. At the end of each level, you're award a certain number of stars, which can be used to purchase or upgrade a variety of power-ups. One power-up gives you more time to finish a level; another allows more gems to appear on the game board. I loved this feature, as it was a refreshing change from games in which one or two power-ups appear at random.

Treasures is a good game. I got frustrated around the fifth or sixth level because I kept running out of time, but after changing my choice of power-ups, I was able to continue. If you're like me and enjoy beating your own high score, you'll love the replayability of Treasures. Plus, Treasures is a point-and-click game, so just about everyone can play it with ease. It might take children a while to learn how to use the power-ups, but once they do, they'll love activating Score Frenzy mode, in which you can blow up multiple tokens at once. It's really neat! Plus, Treasures has great graphics and its music is quite catchy. So sit back, relax and get ready for fun!
