Travelogue 360: Paris Review

A quick Google search reveals that a nine-day visit to the City of Lights costs well over a thousand dollars. But 20 bucks will take you to the same places -- and you won't even have to leave home! Imagine a computer game that takes you to the top of the Eiffel Tower. The sights and sounds are as close to real as anything you've seen and heard on your PC. An amazing vista surrounds you as the buzz and hum of the city tickles your ears. The only thing that breaks the illusion is the giant man towering over the buildings as he strolls down the Champs Elysees. That and the green monkey head hidden in the trees. Travelogue 360: Paris is similar to the Mystery Case Files series in that you'll be asked to scour over 20 photorealistic locations for a variety of souvenirs. The difference is that the Travelogue offering gives you a 360-degree field of view. The effect is stunning. The rest of the package -- including the minigames you'll endure between virtual scavenger hunts -- feels exactly like Mystery Case Files. And that's not a bad thing. Here's hoping Travelogue 360: Paris is the start of a long line of great virtual reality adventures.
